TechCrunch reported that the business was previously nearing a new funding round that would value the company at 500 million dollars. Founded in 2024, the startup gathers and analyzes human motion data to train humanoid robots and other automated machines. [1]

According to TechCrunch, Mecka AI operates by paying individuals to record themselves performing everyday activities while wearing specialized body suits. These tasks include making coffee or repairing automobiles. The startup aims to supply human-generated training data for robotics in the same way companies such as Scale AI, Mercor, and Surge supply data for large language models. [1]
