Printing and packaging component manufacturer Pamarco has deployed artificial intelligence agents to manage accounting work previously performed by finance staff, PYMNTS reported. Glyn Wilson, the chief information officer at Pamarco, stated that the business has automated roughly 40 percent of its financial close tasks using these autonomous tools. [1]

According to PYMNTS, Pamarco operates the software agents on Microsoft Dynamics 365 enterprise resource planning software. The artificial intelligence tools code invoices, run financial close tasks, and assemble financial information. [1]

An artificial intelligence agent is a computer program capable of making decisions, pursuing defined goals, and acting independently without direct supervision from human programmers. This agentic software differs from basic tool-like artificial intelligence systems, such as chatbots, which perform narrow, specific tasks. [2]

The details of the software deployment were highlighted in a case study that Microsoft published in September, PYMNTS reported. [1]
