Logistics provider Worldwide Express has deployed artificial intelligence agents from Amazon Web Services to clear billing disputes and unfreeze 10 million dollars, according to PYMNTS. An Amazon Web Services case study published on October 30 details how the system automates invoice audits for freight shipments. [1]

Worldwide Express works with more than 130,000 customers and over 75 less-than-truckload carriers. The carriers fill trailers with freight from multiple customers. Each carrier invoice must be checked against the original purchase order and the delivery record before the final shipment is billed. [1]

PYMNTS reported that about 14 percent of incoming invoices contained errors that caused billing delays. Discrepancies included incorrect line items, prices that differed from contracted rates, or unexpected fees such as liftgate charges. [1]

An outsourced team previously handled the manual review of mismatched invoices. The implementation of artificial intelligence agents allowed the company to automate the verification process and recover locked funds. [1]
