Technology companies are overhauling their internal corporate structures to justify rising expenditures on artificial intelligence, Fortune reported. Amrita Ahuja, the chief financial officer and chief operating officer at financial services firm Block, stated that businesses are entering a new frontier regarding how organizations look. She predicted that artificial intelligence agents could soon begin officially appearing on corporate organization charts. [1]
Global investments in artificial intelligence technology are expected to exceed $730 billion this year, according to Fortune. To accommodate these costs, companies are making sweeping workforce changes. Earlier this year, Block chief executive Jack Dorsey laid off 40 percent of his staff as part of a structural overhaul aimed at automating workflows. [1]
Ahuja stated that workforce changes will involve both the displacement of workers and adjustments in how employees learn to adapt, Fortune reported. She noted that companies must manage cultural shifts, team structures, and employee training to ensure workers can collaborate effectively alongside artificial intelligence software. [1]
