Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has filed for an initial public offering, the Guardian and Bloomberg both reported on October 26, 2026. On the same day, tech company Meta Platforms announced a fundraising drive to secure up to 95 billion dollars to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure and personal superintelligence projects, according to the Guardian. [1][8]

The Guardian reported that Meta intends to raise 35 billion dollars through new underwritten public offerings of company stock. This capital raise includes backing from technology companies Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom. In addition, Bloomberg reported that Anthropic warned of catastrophic artificial intelligence risks in its initial public offering filing. [1][8]

In its filing, TechCrunch reported that more than half of Anthropic's customers who spend over 100,000 dollars now utilize both the Claude Platform and a first-party application. Yahoo Finance reported that the filing revealed 430 billion dollars in locked-in artificial intelligence computing commitments. [7][9]

Anthropic was founded in January 2021 as a public benefit corporation by former OpenAI members Daniela Amodei and Dario Amodei to promote artificial intelligence safety. Meta Platforms operates social media networks including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. [13][14]

The news of Anthropic's filing boosted market sentiment, with Virginia Business reporting that equities ended higher as the filing supported artificial intelligence stocks. [12]
