Artificial intelligence firm Anthropic is pushing forward with plans for an initial public offering in November 2026, even as time runs out to file required paperwork, according to MarketWatch and The Economic Times. MarketWatch reported that mounting market pressures could force the company to remain private and wait for a better listing opportunity. The Economic Times noted that Anthropic is pressing ahead while other artificial intelligence stock listings face delays. [1][2][6][7]

TechCrunch reported that the stock market debut is expected to value the company at up to $2 trillion. Anthropic previously filed for its offering confidentially on June 1, 2026, and the listing could raise up to $100 billion. According to TechCrunch, even at the company's latest private valuation of $965 billion, early venture capital backers are sitting on billions of dollars in paper gains. [3][8]

For instance, investment firm Coatue first backed Anthropic in 2025 when it was valued at $183 billion, according to TechCrunch. TechCrunch reported that Coatue has invested a total of $4.75 billion across multiple funding rounds, bringing its current stake to roughly $7.5 billion based on the last private price. [3]

Investing.com News reported that Anthropic stands alone in pursuing its public listing as broader artificial intelligence market jitters keep rival startups on the sidelines. Forbes reported that prospective investors face unique factors, including ties to cloud hyperscalers and a distinct corporate governance structure. [4][5]
